I’m celebrating Thanksgiving with my family in Chicago, we made mashed potatoes, corn and green beans, scalloped turnips, scalloped oysters, gravy and Turkey with mushrooms and wine dressing, cider, montango cheese, peacan pie, apple cranberry pie and vanilla ice cream! Good thing we’re a whole bunch of people to eat it all! And this year our turkeys name is HOHOCO.

My friends and I all went to a wine farm in the beautiful Paarl area just outside Cape Town to celebrate a friend’s birthday this weekend. Rivers, forests and mountains, ah how I’ve misssed South Africa!!!!

Barefoot, running through the bush and rivers,we all behaved like kids…

And even though its still winter here, the weather was kind enough to grant us sunny days which all added up to a nearly perfect getaway!

Went to a 21st a few weekends ago. Was by far one of the best house parties i have ever been to!
It was a slum style themed party, cardboard boxes everywhere, open fires, mattresses and couches in the backyard, shopping trollies, you name it it was there!

Yesterday was the 4th of July! I spent the afternoon with my mother, we went with our friend Noemi to see the fireworks at a dorm for girls who live with nuns, called Centro Maria. We went on the rooftop to see the fireworks and sat on a long train of stairs to see the view. The fireworks were stunning. They were very colorful, beautiful geometric shapes, and smiley faces! There were really big ones, that looked like flowers blooming, and really small ones that bunched up together in different colors. Some had rings that made it look like planets, explosive ones with sparkling gold rays, red bugs that would scatter everywhere after the firework exploaded…it was super beautiful. I would have to say my favorite were the planet ones. Happy 4th of July!
