September came and went but before it was too late I had to share with you the best ponytail and fish-tail braid that I ever did receive from John Masters hair team backstage at the Green Shows.

Hairdressing’s Hamish Glianos, Wild Life Hair’s Jayne Wild, Sable’s Julianne McGuigan and stylists Phillip Gallo, Barney Martin and Kenneth Stoddart were among the hairdresses who gave up their day to cut and blow dry with all proceed going to Haiti, Along with Myself, Emma Lung Claudia Karvan, Darren McMullen and Laura Csortan all jumping on board to support this amazing event.

1 Heart2 Loading ... Loading ... thanks for all your comments 0

amanda-1A few weeks ago Amanda Lepore put on a performance at Sydney nightclub Nevermind. Amanda is NYC most famous Transgender nightclub hostess.. Being the partygoer I am this had to be checked out! She has been the advertising face for Heatherette, M.A.C. (cosmetics), Mego Jeans, Swatch, CAMP Cosmetics to name a few. Also has some funky beats to jump around to… Apparently the amount of work she’s had done could amount to buying 10 houses in NYC whoa!!!

New York, I Love You

new_york_i_love_you_ver3_xlgI recently went to the premiere of the film “New York I Love You” starring Natalie Portman, Shia LaBeouf, Bradley Copper and many others. It is an anthology by several very talented directors about New York, and a follow up to Paris Je T’aime! It was very interesting to see how different directors see New York stylistically and story wise! Being a New Yorker now myself, I loved it! My outfit was from an amazing store in SoHo called LF

This past Tuesday, September 15 during New York Fashion Week, we held our inaugural “Don’t Bag Indonesia’s Rainforest” event at the King of Greene Street location at the Green Shows with Rainforest Action Network. Basically RAN documented over 100 fashion companies that were most likely unknowingly purchasing custom packaging and shopping bags from pulping companies exploiting endangered forests in Indonesia.

Together we reached out to some of our favorite fashion companies (we heart you more for switching shopping bags!!!) and a number of them, including Tiffany, H&M, Levi Strauss, Gucci and others responded immediately and are in the process of tracking their supply chain and converting their paper stock to recycled and certified forests. It’d be amazing if all readers can come out and support the efforts. We’re working on ways that you can be involved so expect updates soon! And in the meantime, enjoy the pictures below and click here if you want more images & information.

Erin, Kate and I at the RAN “Don’t Bag Indonesia’s Rainforest” event

Olivia, Bahar and I get a little kooky for the camera.

Cold, hard facts.

Those are Indonesia’s forests behind me! Photo compliments of Ecoturre.com. Organic linen dress by Ekovaruhuset (House of Organic); hat by Ryan Wilde; shoes by Charmone; jewelry by RabidFox, Kirsten Muenster, Tiffany, and Lia Sophia.

Fonzworth Bentley and Faune Chambers. Fonzworth shared with RAN’s executive director, Mike Brune, how he saw forest destruction firsthand on his trip to Chile.

Mike Kowalski (CEO of Tiffany), Lafcadio Cortesi (head of RAN’s Indonesia Campaign), Mike Brune (Executive Director of RAN) and I. Love how Mike Brune is looking all Magnum P.I.

Sexy Stems: Jodi Koskella, designer of Charmone and I show off our matching Charmone shoes!

Olivia, Bahar and I are up for a mismatched role of Charlie’s Angels.

The Green Shows and RAN brought in a good crowd.

Burning Plain in NYC

1 Heart2 Loading ... Loading ... thanks for all your comments 0

amyChelsea Scanlan and I went to the NYC premiere screening of Charlize Theron’s new movie The Burning Plain last night. I love going to premiers- usually most of the cast is there with the director and they introduce the film and discuss the motivation behind making it and how it all went down. It was directed and written by Guillermo Arriaga, the screenwriter of Amores perros (2000), 21 Grams(2003), and Babel (2006) and stars Charlize Theron, Jennifer Lawrence, Kim Basinger and Joaquim de Almeida. Charlize is such a powerful actress and this film does not dissapoint.

SYNOPSIS:
The past and the present have a curious way of effecting one another as several people seperated by time and space are about to discover — Mariana, a 16-year-old girl trying to put together the shattered lives of her parents in a Mexican border town; Sylvia, a woman in Portland who must undertake an emotional odyssey to burnish a sin from her past; Gina and Nick, a couple who must deal with an intense and clandestine affair; and Maria, a young girl who helps her parents find redemption, forgiveness and love. The five will discover that their actions may mean the difference between life and death as well as their own journeys into seeking redemption…and whether or not they will ever find it.
